Sixth grade lesson and homework plan for week of March 23, 2015

 Introduce the Bible verse – II Timothy 2: 15 – 16.  Update prayer requests.  Do Introduction pg. 280.  Talk about false teachers – BLM 24A.  Complete Directed Instruction pg. 280 having students look up passages about Paul and Timothy.
Homework:  Begin studying for verse test on Friday. 
Chapel
Have students role play a situation where one is a coach and one is an athlete.  What is needed to get the athlete in shape?  Divide into three groups.  Have each group look up passage from Directed Instruction and tell how this applies to the students in this class.  Complete BLM 24B with class.

Allow students to orally say the verse.  Do Introduction pg. 284.  As a group, have students talk about situations on BLM  24C.  Do these honor God or not?  Conclude with II Timothy 2:15 – 16 and 22 – 26. 
Homework:  Study for test tomorrow.
Friday Sing. Take the Bible verse  test – II Timothy 2: 15 – 16.  Update prayer requests.  Read an article about an athlete who finished a race despite injury or overcoming a treacherous situation.  Explain that life is like a race.  Don’t give up!
