Sixth Grade lesson and homework plan for week of 9/15/14

8:10- 8:50 Bible	Introduce the Bible verse- Deuteronomy 7:9. Copy it in your journal.  Update prayer requests.  T.E. – pg. 16.  Discuss the creation and God’s plan for redemption for sin.  Read “Twice Mine” in workbook. Homework:  Begin working on Bible verse for Friday.	Chapel	What is a promise?  Discuss conditional and unconditional promises.  T.E. 18.  In groups of two, have students fill out worksheet on God’s covenants.  Go over at the end of class. No homework	Oral Bible verse test.  How does it feel to be chosen by God?  Pass out choices and consequences worksheet.  Have students match up the characters with the choices that they made.  How do our choices affect our lives? Homework:  Study for test tomorrow over Bible verse.	Friday sing.  Take Bible verse test on Deuteronomy 7:9.  Introduce next week’s verse:  Mathew 5: 17 – 18.  Discuss God’s old Covenant and New Covenant.  Do Directed Instruction pg. 22 – T.E.  Have students work in partners on Old Covenant/ New Covenant.  No homework
8:55- 9:40 Math Group  - Teal	Introduce how to find missing numbers in multiplication and division problems.  Homework:  Complete lesson #4 – odds.  Due Tuesday.	Grade lesson #4.  Discuss order of operation and which procedure must come first in a problem.  Homework:  Complete lesson #5 – evens.  Due Wed.	Grade lesson #5.  Show students how to divide into fractions certain geometric shapes.  Homework:  Complete lesson #6 – odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due Thursday.	Grade lesson #6. Review linear measurement.  Homework:  Complete lesson #7 – evens.  Due Friday.	Grade lesson #7.  Discuss perimeter and how to measure it.  Homework:  Complete lesson #8 – odds.  Due Monday.
9:45- 10:26 P.E./ Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Research the answers to the questions on volcanoes.  No homework	Girls – P.E. Boys - Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Finish researching questions on volcanoes.  Homework:  Be prepared to share the answers found to the class on Friday.	Girls – P.E. Boys - Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Present the questions and answers to the class for the group volcano project.  Homework:  Write a paragraph on what you have learned about volcanoes.  Due Monday.
10:45- 11:35 Math Group -Purple	Introduce how to find missing numbers in multiplication and division problems.  Homework:  Complete lesson #4 – odds.  Due Tuesday.
