Sixth grade lesson plan for week of Sept. 29, 2014

Review the Bible verse:  Matthew 5:17 – 18.  Have students write what they believe that verse means.  Update prayer requests.  Discuss the differences between the old covenant and the new covenant. 
Homework:  Study for test on Friday. 
Chapel
Discuss what the Gospels are.  Read Introduction pg. 30 (T.E.) to class.  Who wrote the Gospels and how could we tell the others the “good news”?  Go over directed Instruction and then have students do extension activity pg. 30.

Allow students to say verse orally.  Write Christian on the board – find acronyms.  Play follow the leader.  Read directed Instruction pg. 32. 
Homework:  Study for Bible verse test tomorrow. 
Friday Sing.  Take Bible verse test over Matthew 5:17 – 18.  Print off all names of New Testament books.  Have students stand in order of the books.  Categorize the books into Gospels, Letters, History, or Prophecy.

Homework:  Be ready to present your hypothesis to the class tomorrow.
