Sixth grade lesson plan for week of Oct. 6, 2014

 Introduce the Bible verse – Matthew 6:33. Update prayer requests.  Discuss the scenarios in Introduction pg. 40 – T.E.  Introduce “Matthew” and let him explain why he wrote his book.  Pass out Four Gospels page and answer information about Matthew. 
Homework:  Begin studying verse for test on Thursday. 
Chapel
Students may say Matthew 6:33 orally if they know it.  Jesus used parables to tell stories with spiritual meanings.  Read Matthew 13:31-34, 44-46, 47-50.  Write a parable highlighting a spiritual lesson. 
Homework:  Complete your parable for tomorrow.  Practice your memory verse for test tomorrow. 

                                   

Take memory verse test on Matthew 6:33.  Update prayer requests.  Introduce next week’s verse – Mark 10:44-45.  Present parables from yesterday and have students try to uncover the Biblical principle that they are teaching.  If time permits, do extension activity 4A in T.E. on page 46. 
Trip to Mount St. Helen’s.  All students must be at school at 7:15 A.M.  Bring a sack lunch and water bottle.
