Sixth grade lesson plan for week of Oct. 6, 2014

6th Grade	MONDAY	TUESDAY	WEDNESDAY	THURSDAY	FRIDAY
8:10- 8:50 Bible	Introduce the Bible verse – Matthew 6:33. Update prayer requests.  Discuss the scenarios in Introduction pg. 40 – T.E.  Introduce “Matthew” and let him explain why he wrote his book.  Pass out Four Gospels page and answer information about Matthew.  Homework:  Begin studying verse for test on Thursday.	Chapel	Students may say Matthew 6:33 orally if they know it.  Jesus used parables to tell stories with spiritual meanings.  Read Matthew 13:31-34, 44-46, 47-50.  Write a parable highlighting a spiritual lesson.  Homework:  Complete your parable for tomorrow.  Practice your memory verse for test tomorrow.	Take memory verse test on Matthew 6:33.  Update prayer requests.  Introduce next week’s verse – Mark 10:44-45.  Present parables from yesterday and have students try to uncover the Biblical principle that they are teaching.  If time permits, do extension activity 4A in T.E. on page 46.	Trip to Mount St. Helen’s.  All students must be at school at 7:15 A.M.  Bring a sack lunch and water bottle.
8:55- 9:40 Math Group Teal	Grade lesson #12. Introduce “Larger-Smaller-Difference” Stories as well as “Later-Earlier-Difference” Stories.     Homework:  Complete lesson #13 – odds.  Due Tuesday.	Grade lesson #13.  Introduce negative numbers.  Homework:  Complete lesson #14 – evens.  Due Wednesday.	Grade lesson #14.  Discuss what  equal groups are and how we find how to make them. Homework:  Complete lesson #15 odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due Thursday.  Also, study for test tomorrow over lessons 11 – 15.	Grade lesson #15.  Take test 2A.  No homework
9:45- 10:26 P.E./ Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Watch a movie on Mt. St. Helen’s.  Homework:  Bring in information off the internet on Mount St. Helen’s.  Due Wednesday.	Girls – P.E. Girls – Science – In small groups, using the internet information brought from home, answer the question page.  Share answers with the class.  Homework:  Prepare for field trip on Friday. History - What happened to the Lost Colony of Roanoke.  As a group, present your conclusion to the class.  We will then discuss what Historians believe happened to the colony.  No homework
