Sixth grade lesson and homework plan for week of Oct. 13, 2014

8:10- 8:50 Bible	Introduce Bible verse – Matthew 10:44-45.  Do memory verse activity – pg. 52 – T.E. Update prayer requests.  Introduce play that we will complete for chapel.  Homework:  Begin studying for memory verse test next week.	Chapel	Practice play for skit in chapel.  Complete Introduction and Directed Instruction – pg. 52 T.E.  In small groups, brainstorm a person in the Bible who you would consider a success.  Why did you choose that person? Homework:  Keep practicing memory verse.  Test is next Friday. (Oct. 24th)	Teacher’s ACSI Convention. – No School for Students	No School
8:55- 9:40 Math Group Teal	Go over test from last Thursday.  Demonstrate how to round whole numbers and how to estimate.  Homework:  Complete lesson #16 – odds.  Due Tuesday.	Grade lesson #16.  Show students how to locate fractions and mixed numbers on the number line.  Homework:  Complete lesson #17 – evens.  Due Wednesday.	Grade lesson #17.  Review averaging and line graphs.  Homework:  Complete lesson 18 – odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due next Monday.
9:45- 10:26 P.E./ Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Go over packets from Mount St. Helen’s field trip.  Review group project from last week.  Finish movie on Mount St. Helens.	Girls – P.E. Boys - Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Discuss how to classify volcanoes.  Divide into two groups.  Have one group classify volcanoes by shapes.  Have the other classify volcanoes by eruptions.  Divide into subgroups and draw or create a diagram of the type of volcano that you are assigned.  Homework:  Bring materials for next Monday to create a model or a poster of your type of volcano.
10:45- 11:35 Math Group - Purple	Grade lesson #14.  Introduce “Equal Group” Stories. Homework:  Complete lesson #15 – odds.  Due Tuesday.  Also, study for test tomorrow over lessons 11 – 15.	Grade lesson #15.  Takes test 2B. No homework	Go over test from yesterday.  Show students how to round whole numbers, as well as to estimate the solution.  Homework:  Complete lesson #16 – odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due next Monday.

History – Read pages 96 – 98.  Discuss what Jamestown was like.  Show map and pictures.  Homework:  Complete questions pg. 98.  Due tomorrow.	Grade questions pg. 98.  Read pages 99 – 102.  Watch a YouTube on the Plimoth Plantation.  No homework
