Sixth grade lesson and homework plan for week of Feb. 9, 2015

6th Grade	MONDAY	TUESDAY	WEDNESDAY	THURSDAY	FRIDAY
8:10- 8:50 Bible	Introduce Bible verse – Galatians 3: 13 – 14.  Divide into six groups.  Have students pantomime present day activities vs. olden day activities.  Which are easier?  Discuss the “old” Law versus the “new” way of living in Christ.  Do directed instruction pg. 220. No homework	Chapel	Discuss cause and effect.  Read Gal. 5: 16 – 18.  What is the effect of living life in Christ?  Divide into 9 groups – Have each make a fruit and attach their assigned fruit to it.  Role play how that fruit manifests itself.  Let class try to guess what their fruit is.  Homework:  Study for Bible verse test tomorrow.	Take Bible verse test on Gal. 3: 13 – 14.  Introduce next week’s verse – Ephesians 4: 4-6.  Divide the room in halves.  Have students stand on the Godly side, or flesh-driven life as different acts are described.  Choose where you would like your life to be centered.	No School -  President’s Day holiday.
8:55- 9:40 Math Group Teal	Grade lesson #55.  Go over test from last Thursday.  Review the three steps to adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators. Homework:  Complete lesson #56 – odds.  Due Tuesday.	Grade lesson #56.  Show students how to compare fractions that have different denominators.  Homework:  Complete lesson #57 – evens.  Due Wednesday.	Grade lesson #57.  Show students how to add mixed numbers that have unlike denominators.  Homework:  Complete lesson #58 – odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due Thursday	Grade lesson #58.  In partners, complete worksheet on adding mixed numbers with unlike denominators.  Grade at the end of class. No homework
9:45- 10:26 P.E./ Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science- Divide into groups of two.  Assign each group an astrological object to research.  Using the internet, research your topic.  Write a one page report on your topic.  Plan to make a visual or a model on Wednesday.  Homework:  Bring two internet or book sources that deal with your assigned topic.  Due Wednesday.	Girls – P.E. Boys - Science	Boys – P.E. Girls – Science – Complete your report about your astrological topic.  Begin working on your visual for your presentation.  No homework	Girls – P.E. Grade lesson #46.  Demonstrate how to subtract mixed numbers with regrouping.  Homework:  Complete lesson #47 – evens.  Due Wednesday.	Grade lesson #47.  Show how to divide a decimal number by a decimal.  Homework:  Complete lesson #48 – odds, (or all for extra credit).  Due Thursday.
