Sixth grade lesson and homework plan for week of Apr. 27, 2015

Introduce the memory verse – Philemon 1: 4-6.  Update prayer requests.  Divide into two groups and do Introduction pg. 304. Read through the book of Philemon.  Talk about what the theme is. 
Homework:  Begin learning verse for Friday.

Draw figures on board.  Have students find correlation of two pictures.  Discuss the responsibility of Philemon to Onesimus as well as the other way around.  Do sword drill with students.

Using a globe, pointing out East and West.  How far is the East from the West?  Play song for class. Read (BLM 26) to class.  How was that woman able to forgive?  Homework: Write a short report about a time that you needed to practice or ask for forgiveness.  Be prepared to share with class on Friday. 
Study for verse test tomorrow. 
Take verse test on Philemon 1: 4-6.  Introduce next week’s verse – Hebrews 12:1. Update prayer requests.   
Read stories of forgiveness from yesterday.
