SIXTH GRADE LESSON PLAN   FOR WEEK OF   9-09-13

5th Grade	MONDAY	TUESDAY	WEDNESDAY	THURSDAY	FRIDAY
8:10- 8:50 Bible	Introduce lesson 1.1           (Teacher’s edition                         pg. 4) Read “The                      Crippled Lamb” to class.   Homework:  Have                 students complete           workbook pg. 1.                            Due Wed.	Chapel	Grade workbook pg. 1.  Introduce lesson – pg. 6 TE.  Divide into six groups.  Assign each group a scripture from workbook pg. 2.  Have them become reporters to research the who, what, where, when, why and how of the passage.  Report your findings to class.  No homework	Read directed instructions pg. 8 on T.E.  In groups of two’s have students complete workbook pg. 3. Homework: Workbook pg. 3 due Friday.  Also, study for verse test on John 3:16 – 17 – tomorrow.	Friday Sing.  Memory verse test – John 3:16 – 17.  Introduce next week’s verse – Deuteronomy 7:9.  Do Bible verse drill. No homework

Grade lesson #2.  Introduce how to solve for missing numbers in addition and subtraction problems.  Homework:  Complete lesson #3 – odds (or all for extra credit).  Due Thursday.	Grade lesson #3.  Show students how to solve for missing numbers in multiplication and division problems.  Homework: Complete lesson #4 – evens.  Due Friday.	Grade lesson #4.  Review how to solve problems using variables.  Homework:  Complete worksheets pgs. 22-23 with partner.  Due Monday.
2:05 - 2:55 - Health/ History 2:05- 2:55 Social Studies or Health	Introduce explorers of the New World.  Assign each group an explorer to research.        Homework: Bring research tomorrow about your explorer	Divide into groups by explorers.  By using research, answer the questions about your explorer.  Homework:  Bring a map of your explorer's travel routes.	Go to computer lab to research about your explorer or to help create a travel brochure for your explorer.  Travel maps showing the routes your explorer sailed and travel brochures are due Friday.	Finish travel brochure and map for presentation tomorrow.  Homework:  Complete presentation for tomorrow.	Group presentations of explorers due today. Homework:  None
